Michael Lauretti POLICE CHIEF Michael Lauretti grew up in Eastpointe and has been with the Eastpointe Police Department since 1980. In 1991, Michael Lauretti earned his first promotion to Corporal. He has progressed up the ladder earning promotions to Sergeant, Lieutenant, Inspector, and finally his current position as Chief of Police. Chief Lauretti graduated from the East Detroit High School in 1978. He has earned an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Macomb Community College and a Bachelor's Degree from Rochester College in Administration. Chief Lauretti has attended the Northwestern University School of Staff and Command for continuing education. He also attended the FBI Law enforcement Executive Development program in Quantico, Virginia. Chief Lauretti was selected by his peers to serve as President of the Macomb Chiefs of Police Association and the Southeastern Chiefs of Police Association. In 2010, Chief Lauretti was elected to serve as President of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police being the first and only Chief from Eastpointe ever elected to that position. In 2011, Governor Rick Snyder appointed Chief Lauretti to serve on the Automobile Theft Prevention Authority. He is very active in the community being involved in several different groups. Chief Lauretti is married to Donna and has a son, Michael Jr., and a daughter Ashley. He is an avid bowler, golfer and is a computer fanatic.
Scott Bourgeois DEPUTY CHIEF Scott Bourgeois grew up in Center Line and is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He has been with the Eastpointe Police Department since 1988. He has been assigned to the Patrol Division and Detective Bureau and has supervised the Record Bureau, the Traffic Safety Unit and the Detective Bureau. He served as a member of the department’s Critical Response Team which was formed in 1997 and was named its Team Commander prior to his leaving it. Deputy Chief Bourgeois has received numerous department awards including the Medal of Valor and Police Commendation. He attended Macomb Community College and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command. Scott and his wife, Kathy, have 3 daughters. He enjoys hunting, biking and spending time with his family.
