POLICE MILLENNIUM BADGE

|
Police Officers within the department were interested in designing
a different style badge to celebrate the coming of the new
millennium. After serious thought, officers decided to create a
badge, something distinct from what they were currently wearing.
The badge was designed with a shamrock in the middle representing
the City of Eastpointe's symbol. On the back of each badge is the
following inscription:
Birth of Eastpointe:
Erin Township
Halfway
City of East Detroit / Eastpointe
A place to begin, a place to belong, a place to become
Officers wore this badge throughout the Year 2000.
The cost of these badges was absorbed by the individual
officers and their police unions. |
