RESPONSIBILITIES

The Parks Maintenance Division is a highly active department with responsibilities that extend well beyond the parks. From lawn maintenance and grass mowing to flowerbeds and landscaping. The division maintains 20 baseball fields, 7 soccer fields, and the Memorial Park football field, and is also responsible for the irrigation systems throughout the city in flowerbeds and at city building sites. Division employees assist in setting up many community events and festivals, including playing Santa's helpers, decorating the city for Christmas. Parks Division employees also do building maintenance, maintain and operate Kennedy Pool, and of course, maintain 7 beautiful parks.

ADOPT-A-FLOWERBED PROGRAM

The City of Eastpointe Department of Parks & Recreation plants and maintains numerous flowerbeds in parks, at city buildings, and on Kelly and Gratiot medians. You, your family, civic or athletic organization, school, or business can help with this beautification of Eastpointe by adopting a flowerbed.

At a spring workshop, you will be given guidance, suggestions, and lots of useful information to bring your colorful gardening ideas to life. You don’t need a green thumb, only a desire to make Eastpointe alive with color.
