GENERAL INFORMATION

Thank you for visiting our web site. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the many services provided through Eastpointe Parks and Recreation. We would like your experience with our department to be a pleasant one, and we will be happy to assist you in any way we can.

The Parks and Recreation Director is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the City Manager. 

The Parks and Recreation Department is located at the Eastpointe Community Center, 16435 Eight Mile Road. Hours of operation are:


Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION

MEETING DATES

The Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Eastpointe Community Center (16435 Eight Mile) at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public and posted on City bulletin boards.

HOW TO REGISTER

Registration takes place for most programs at the Community Center (16435 Eight Mile Rd.) Monday - Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Registration for all senior citizen programs will be at the Senior Citizen Center (16600 Stephens Dr.) on Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

REFUND POLICY

The following Eastpointe Parks and Recreation Refund Policy applies to those programs in which persons pay a registration fee to participate. When a participant PRESENTS A RECEIPT and requests a refund:

  1. No refunds will be issued for programs that have surpassed 30% of the class sessions or a maximum of three class sessions whichever is the lesser amount.

  2. The Department will offer a voucher or due bill to the requesting party at a pro-rated amount charging on a per class session based on the amount of sessions remaining.

  3. If conditions of #1 are met and voucher is not acceptable, a refund will be given in check form (NO CASH) through City Hall (will take up to 4 weeks) based on pro-ration in #2, less a $5.00 service fee.

  4. When two or more persons sign up for a program and a reduced rate is given for the multiple sign-ups, the refunds will be based on that reduced rate first.

  5. Special circumstances (example: Doctor's Statement) will be considered at any time by the Department (see #2 and/or #3).

  6. All requests for refunds must include a RECEIPT and be submitted through the Administrative Offices, 16435 Eight Mile, Eastpointe.

"Zest For Life" Stroke Club

Clubs

Many clubs use the facilities at the Community Center, Senior Center, and Spindler Park. These clubs are all open to Eastpointe residents.

"Zest For Life" Stroke Club

The Eastpointe Stroke Club is a recreational support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Membership is open to all Macomb County residents. Meetings take place at the Senior Center, which is located at 16600 Stephens, every Thursday from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. The dues fee is $1.00 per week. Activities include guest speakers, special events, exercise classes, games, trips, and much, much more. For further information about the Stroke Club, please contact the program supervisor at 445-5084.
