Overview

The Teen Advisory Commission serves as a forum for teens who strive to make the community a better place to live, grow, and learn.  This commission will also introduce teens to local government, community organizing, and professional development.  In addition, this commission is charged with the authority and responsibility of making recommendations to the council regarding the needs and concerns of youth in the community and the appropriate means by which public and private agencies, in cooperation with volunteer efforts, may address such needs and concerns.

The nine (9) member commission is appointed by the majority vote of the members of the City Council. Five (5) members will serve an initial term of 2 years, and four (4) members will serve an initial term of 1 year. Thereafter, members will serve a two-year term upon appointment.
